Boilermaker 

Role Overview

To undertake, under the direction of the Workshop Supervisor- Gympie, and/or the delegated Leading Hand, all aspects of work including boiler making, sheet metal work and general repairs of Council’s fleet of trucks, plant and miscellaneous equipment. Planning and scheduling of workload and interaction with internal customers and stakeholders. The position requires fabrication and maintenance of equipment across the region for all council departments if required.

 

 Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  •       Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering and civil construction drawings.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Manual handling skills.
  • Experience in the maintenance of vehicles, heavy trucks and earthmoving equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of various types of welding techniques and sheet metal works.
  • Design equipment parts.
  • Ability to use hand tools.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Trade certificate or higher qualification in Boiler Making
  • Construction Industry White/Blue card
  • Forklift Ticket
  • Dogman Ticket

HR Licence would be highly regarded.
