Business Subject Matter Expert - Finance (Fixed-Term)

Role Overview
This position provides support to the project streams of the technology transformation program. The role will assist the project team by evaluating and defining processes, undertaking data analysis, validating requirements, undertaking user acceptance testing, and contributing to process maps, technical documentation, and training.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Support the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied.
- Accurately represent their function subject and/or business units’ needs to the project team.
- Bring information about the project back to the relevant stakeholders.
- Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and validate executed test results.
- Provide input into and/or create and execute user documentation and training material.
- Test the product towards the end of the project (user acceptance testing), using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, providing feedback to the project team.
- Guide other professionals on the project to ensure the content is accurate.
- Obtain approval for changes to rules, processes and policies.
Essential Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of business operations and project management.
- Ability to write and edit quality content that is suitable for varied audiences.
- Ability to build effective relationships across a professionally diverse workforce.
- Ability to define procedures, standards, performance objectives, and determine acceptable performance levels.
- Understanding of the language/terminology in area of expertise.
- Ability to explain area of expertise clearly to others including how things are done, and why.
- Competent use in the utilisation of Microsoft 365 productivity suite
- Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
Desirable Requirements:
- Understanding of the workings and complexity of local government.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation to analyse current state and design future state value streams, processes, and support materials, using industry standard tools and modelling techniques to develop artifacts for reference in the enterprise architecture.
