Officer Organisational Development (Fixed Term - Maternity Leave)

Role Overview

Gympie Regional Council currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our People and Culture Branch as an active member of the Organisational Development team in the position of Officer Organisational Development on a full time, fixed term engagement. This opportunity will commence early to mid November 2023 and will be for a period of 11 months.

This crucial position will provide support to the Organisational Development team in the delivery of learning and development, and organisational development products. It will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining Council's corporate records, coordination of training, meetings and workshops, data entry and purchase order processes.

Daily duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Collect and collate development information from Performance Appraisals
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate learning and development activities as required, including but not limited to;

o       Booking trainers and coordinating venue hire and catering for learning events,

o       Scheduling participants for training in Outlook using skills report data, performance appraisal information, and as requested,

o       Coordinating the evaluation of training providers as required.

  • Support the Senior Officer Organisational Development in maintaining the annual learning and development calendar, and the learning and development databases and skills register.
  • Administer the Learning Management System, adding and removing users and learning, assigning learning and updating current learning modules.
  • Administer the Study Assistance program, processing applications and maintaining the procedure in consultation with the Coordinator Organisational Development.
  • Provide general administration support to the Organisational Development function.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service and effectively communicate with stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use modern technology, enterprise resource planning and records management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and set priorities to achieve a broad range of outcomes within defined parameters and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated document control experience and commitment to quality and continuous improvement principles.

Although not mandatory for the role, it would be advantageous to also have:

  • A qualification or active enrolment in a human resources course or related field.
  • Previous experience in the coordination of mandatory, work health and safety and/or licencing training.
  • Demonstrated experience is the use of Civica Authority, MagiQ Documents and MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of work health and safety licencing and requirements.
