Role Overview

This position is responsible for evaluating and ensuring the quality of the software applications before they are deployed.  The primary role is to design, develop and execute test cases and scripts to identify any defects or issues within the software. This is a fixed term 2-year contract with the possibility of an extension.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Execute test cases and scripts to verify the functionality, performance, reliability, and usability of software applications.
  • Identify, isolate, and report defects or issues using defect tracking tools, and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
  • Participate in the analysis and review of business requirements, system design, and technical specifications to ensure testability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand project objectives and requirements.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and system testing.
  • Conduct test data setup and configuration to simulate real-world scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Identify areas for test process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Document test results, test reports, and test metrics to communicate findings and track the progress of testing activities.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to software testing and quality assurance.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a test analyst or QA analyst, preferably in software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficient in test case design, test execution, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
  • Experience in working with different testing techniques, such as black-box testing and white-box testing.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple testing tasks simultaneously.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
