 Officer Archives Project- 1 full time, fixed term position available

Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $74,172.80 plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview

Gympie Regional Council currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Records team to assist with the completion of our Records Archives Program of Works. This will be an initial 12 month contract with the possibility of extension.

This fixed term position has been developed to assist with the identification, cataloguing and transfer of physical archives to off-site storage. To support the Records team in undertaking business as usual tasks, such as scanning and capture of daily mail.

Key responsibilities in this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the consolidation of Council's hard copy records from a range of locations within the region.
  • Catalogue physical archives into standardised templates
  • Prepare physical archives for transfer to off-site storage
  • Assist in the application of retention and disposal schedules to physical archives
  • Assist in coordinating transfers of physical archives to off-site storage and the retrieval and return of records as required.
  • Assist in the tracking and recording of physical record movements
  • Assist in quality control auditing processes of physical archives catalogues
  • Assist in business as usual records management activities as requested by the Supervisor Records.

What we are looking for

To be successful in the positions, candidates will need to have:

  • Demonstrated data entry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • Sound ability or ability to acquire knowledge and skills in the use of various electronic systems used to aid in the accurate identification, cataloguing and tracking of council’s information.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
