Technical Arborist - Open Space Maintenance
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $86,250, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview
This position supports Council’s direction by providing tree technical inspections, assess tree condition and organise maintenance works, which will ensure Council safely manages its trees assets. You will be required to liaise with a range of customers including residents, business owners, other Council sections and community groups.
You will be required to work with the Technical Officer – Arboriculture to provide expert technical arboricultural advice and guidance to workers, contractors, other Council departments and project designers.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Certificate III in Arboriculture (ACH30820)
- Proven ability to undertake tree inspections.
- Experience providing technical tree information to others
- Ability to schedule work for staff and manage their service quality.
- Experience in managing contractors undertaking tree maintenance works.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate positively
- Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
- General construction induction (white/blue card).
Essential Requirements:
- Support the Technical Officer – Arboriculture to provide planned and reactive tree maintenance for the region.
- Undertake technical tree inspections and provide technical information regarding tree health and structure when requested.
- Investigate customer requests, determine achievable outcomes, communicate the outcome to the customer
- Supervise staff and contractors as requested to ensure works are undertaken in a safe, competent, efficient and timely manner and delivered to agreed specifications and service levels.
- Identify new ways to improve work practices in accordance with Council's continuous improvement commitment.
