The purpose of the Coordinator ICT Projects and Planning is to establish and lead a program of work within Council's ICT unit, ensuring the program goals and delivery outcomes are aligned with the objectives and goals of Council.
In addition, the position is responsible for coordinating the department’s budget and operating plans, as well as overseeing and providing guidance to multiple project delivery teams.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Certification in Project Management or similar fields.
- Minimum of five years’ experience leading and delivering complex programs and projects in medium to large size organisations, with experience in procurement.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver impactful and confident presentations to executive level stakeholders, project teams and stakeholders.
- Robust business acumen with ability to problem solve, analyse project impacts and deliver strategic outcomes. Experience in ITIL Change and Organiational Change Management principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of project management software (Basecamp, Sharepoint, MS Project etc).
- Staff and vendor performance evaluation, leadership and organisational skills.
- Training and mentoring existing staff who have limited experience in project management.
- Applying Managing Successful Programs (MSP) methodology.
- Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
Essential Requirements:
- Develop and implement project management frameworks, templates, processes and governance to ensure provision of accurate project information, consistent outcomes and effective collaboration with other department resources.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget. Run the procurement activity to find a technical partner that offers best value for Council.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and vendors to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and documentation, including risk and issue management, and direct the work of project resources and others to ensure successful delivery of the program.
- Ensure compliance with best practice project management methodologies and industry standards for IT networking and security.
- Manage project resources and budgets, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Act as a primary point of contact for all project-related activities, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide expert advice on service delivery levels, product utility and performance.
- Identify emerging issues/risks and their implications and propose solutions.
- Coach and mentor project managers and other employees to continuously improve the capability within the team and Council.
- Deliver reports, analysis and recommendations on function performance, outcomes and future direction.
