Supervisor Grading
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $89,269, plus up to 14% superannuation

Role Overview
Deliver maintenance for roads, bridges, and associated assets, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service. Ensure financial management, quality products, value for money, timely delivery and the health and safety of staff. You will be responsible for overseeing grading road surfacing operations which includes, supervising, and mentoring leading hands and crew members to perform works safely and efficiently.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated ability in leadership and management of teams.
- Experience in planning, coordinating and monitoring operational maintenance programs.
- Computer literacy.
- Strong people skills and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and foster a customer service culture.
- Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained.
- Construction Industry White/Blue card.
Essential Requirements:
- Coordinate the human and physical resources in order to carry out maintenance activities.
- Ensure all standards are adhered to in assisting and developing quality management objectives and targets. Leading grading crews in all aspects of maintenance grading works.
- Participate in pre-planning for all jobs.
- Organising staff, equipment, plant, and loading for best operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate staff training and facilitate staff development within their work teams.
- Participate in at least one continuous improvement project per annum.
- Other requests allocated to the team requiring tact, professionalism and judgement to respond to councilor requests or reputation risks in relation to maintenance and construction works.
- Champion technology improvements to support a mobile workforce. Contribute to the development of procedures in relation to area of work.
- Work autonomously, cohesively and collaboratively with other council teams.
- Participate in the development of a healthy and safe workplace. Embracing initiatives,
- information and training and incorporating safety into all daily activities. Demonstrate safe work behaviors, abiding by procedures, identifying and reporting hazards, and contributing to all aspects of a safe workplace culture
- Identify new ways to improve work practices in accordance with council's continuous improvement commitment.
- Complete other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.
