Role Overview:

Gympie Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a fulltime - fixed term position for a period of 12 months.  You will provide efficient and effective maintenance of Council’s Rating and Property systems ensuring a high standard of customer service, including arrears and debt management.

Essential Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, in particular with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously yet successfully work as part of an integrated team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively to a time management plan to achieve work goals and meet deadlines.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.

Essential Requirements: 

  • Provide a high standard of customer service and ensure accurate and timely responses to all enquiries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service and operating efficiency within the Council’s systems.
  • Data entry, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of regular direct debit payments and assisting with the issue of accounts receivable invoices when required.
  • Respond to all general enquiries for the rates section, including email, telephone and written correspondence, ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping for Council’s records.
  • Provide introductory rates payment arrangement training sessions and half yearly rates payment arrangement training for Customer Contact staff
  • Maintain the confidentiality of Council, employee information and information relating to members of the general public.
  • Ensure records, registers, reports, enquiries, reconciliations, and correspondence are maintained and produced within agreed time constraints established by the Council and Executive.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Coordinator Revenue Services.
