Expressions of interest: Venue Services and Gympie Regional Art Gallery

Applications will be assessed on skills and experience that meet the mandatory requirements for these positions. When casual vacancies arise, Council will draw from this pool of submissions and may make contact with you. This talent pool will be active up until the listed closing date.

 

Remuneration: Attractive hourly rate, plus casual loading (rate and loading will be dependent on position and working days and hours)

Expressions of interest are invited for the casual positions of Officer Venue Support and Gallery Assistant. Hours will be allocated on an as needs basis. 

 

Officer Venue Support

This position supports the smooth operation of events and functions hosted at Council venues, including quality customer service, liaison with hirers, physical set up and presentation of spaces.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of direct service and support to clients for functions or events.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a small team environment contributing to team targets/goals as well as work efficiently and effectively autonomously.
  • Demonstrated well developed verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with people across Council and the community.
  • Experience in a venue services.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to physically set up rooms including moving tables and chairs in accordance with all Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Gallery Assistant

Situated at the Gallery’s front reception desk, the Gallery Assistant is responsible for welcoming visitors to the Gallery, processing Gallery shop transactions, providing quality customer service and supporting other gallery staff with general administration duties.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and information delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in office administration (with cash handling experience desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in a cultural environment, e.g. gallery, museum, tourism, or other cultural venue (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating with a wide range of audiences.
