Remuneration: This position will offer an attractive total remuneration package and will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending upon qualifications and experience.

Role Overview
The Manager Operations Roads and Drainage oversees the operations and delivery of all civil maintenance works at council including roads, bridges, stormwater, fleet, fuel and material planning (allocation forecasting and optimisation), workshop and quarry and pit operations. The position is responsible for the alignment, coordination and reporting of the regional areas which service multidiscipline functions across all of council’s services.
What we are looking for
You will be a self driven individual with an inclusive leadership style. You will also have a strong leadership and management background and extensive knowledge and experience in civil maintenance.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- To efficiently and effectively manage the total resources of the roads and drainage team in order to provide quality service to the community, including the alignment of plant and equipment and fuel services to meet the delivery requirements of maintenance operations.
- Deliver service excellence for our customers and the community, by implementing key initiatives, projects and service delivery activities as defined by Corporate, Operational and Branch plans.
- Develop, maintain and implement the functions Asset Management Plan(s) to deliver three (3) year detailed forecast and in-conjunction with the Manager Capital Delivery support the development of the rolling 10 year Capital forecast plan including the collaboration with the Manager Capital Delivery and Assets in developing, maintaining and implementing the Asset Management Plans for Roads, Drainage.
- To budget, forecast and report on the delivery of the annual approved operational programs in alignment with the operational maintenance strategies, as well as timely completion of TMR planned and unplanned contracted works.
- Manage the delivery of private works on non-Council owned assets, including the delivery of Department of Transport and Main Roads contracts for road and land maintenance including tender management, contract formation and administration.
- Manage the delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance activities on Council’s Roads and Drainage assets and fleet assets to meet developed levels of service and current best practices for the relevant fields including a forward works program for maintenance activities.
