Specialist Small Plant Mechanic
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $76854, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview
The Specialist Small Plant Mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs Councils small mechanical equipment and machinery, including hand tools, small engines, and power equipment, to ensure safe and efficient operation and to minimize downtime.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated fault diagnostic skills within a workshop and field environment, including the use of machine management software operations.
- A demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proven experience in the servicing and maintenance of a variety of small plant, front deck mowers and machinery.
- Knowledge of commercial mowers, small petrol driven machinery and generators both petrol and Diesel.
- The ability to use a range of hand and power tools.
- Electrical Test and Tag qualification or an ability to obtain within six (6) months
- A medium to high level of computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Strong technical skills
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills
- Trade qualifications are a minimum of Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology, or proven relevant experience
- Queensland C Class driver’s licence or above current and maintained
- Construction Industry White card
- To take instructions from the workshop leadership team
Essential Requirements:
- To carry out a service and maintenance program and fault diagnostic service for council’s small plant and machinery as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, replacing faulty parts, using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment
- Ensure safe work methods, practices and conditions always while working on or operating plant and machinery.
- Documentation of all work performed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Workshop and Logistics Operations Branch
